The perfect chocolate chip cookie. Everyone has a special secret recipe. I have one and so does my sister and believe it or not, the recipes are not the same! One time when we had all our kids together we decided to make cookies and then began arguing which recipe we would use. “My recipe is the best! Everyone loves them,” I insisted. “My kids are picky about what they eat and if they love my cookies then my recipe has to be the best,” she swore. The only way to decide who had the best recipe was to do a bake off. We didn’t want to just leave this important decision to the children, so we offered up a cookie taste test to her neighbors. Warm, gooey, sweet and perfectly baked I presented my cookies. I was devastated that my recipe didn’t win, however; her recipe didn’t win either. The contest ended in a tie! Like they say in hockey, ending in a tie is like kissing your sister. So we decided to agree that we both had excellent recipes and left it at that.
