Author Feida McFadden is known for writing psychological thrillers that seem to keep you guessing until the last page. This book is on par with the rest of her books. There is enough cringe to make you shout at the characters to “Stop!” and “No!”, but of course they keep pushing the boundaries.
The tagline for this book is “It’s a lesson she’ll never forget.” With 2 of the main characters being female, the question is who is the “she” mentioned in the tagline? This mystery thriller is full of twists and reasons to keep turning the pages.
I usually read and review cozy mysteries or other books that have recipes. This book is not a cozy mystery but a psychological thriller and great ride of a story!
Literary Leftovers are book reviews and recommendations that do not contain recipes, but are books that I highly recommend.
The Teacher by Freida McFadden Book Review
Murder Mystery Books🔪🔪🔪🔪🔪
Book Review Outline and Tone:
Freida McFadden has created another fascinating thriller that keeps fooling you into thinking you know what is going to happen. Like all good thrillers, I wanted to shout at the characters to “Stop!” or “Tell someone!”, but they never do. And that’s why the events spiral down and down while the tension rises up and up. And just when you think you know what is going to happen, there is an unexpected twist.
Eve and Nate are both teachers at a local high school. Nate is one of those popular teachers while Eve is considered to be more strict. They seem to put on a good front at school, but in reality their marriage is a mess, each of them dealing with things in a different way. They are both being destructive so whose bad choices will affect more people?
The author:
Freida Mc Fadden is a bestselling author according to several outlets, Amazon #1, New York Times, and USA Today just to name a few. Her website, https://www.freidamcfadden.com/ makes it clear that all of her books are available in paperback, audiobook, and Kindle Unlimited. While she is an independently published author, my library also has copies of her books so you can check with your local library and even request that they get copies if they don’t have them. Her website also has a merchandise store. Get your Freida won’t let me sleep shirt, sticker, coffee mug and more. She really has some clever items. Ms. McFadden has an active Facebook page, Twitter (X), and Instagram. Perhaps the best thing on her website are Discussion Questions for many of her books that you can use with your book club, or just to make you think.
What is not to like?:
The inappropriate behavior is cringe. Ew! Make it stop! But keep reading!!
The verdict:
Read every word until the very end and then go out and get another Freida McFadden book.
